Carley - Arkansas Senior Photographer

Well, we had fun in the snow today with Carley Jean! I didn't know taking pictures in the snow makes you forget how cold it actually is.

Winter is here!

We're expecting up to .75 inches of ice under anywhere from 4-10 inches of snow. That means canceled photo sessions for Michele Graves Photography. Not to worry. I plan on making the best of it and getting some great snow shots.

January weather

Due to the lovely January weather we're having, I had to unfortunately reschedule my first newborn session. Hopefully, I will get to do it tomorrow. Waiting to hear from the little mommy to make sure we're still on. I'll be posting pictures soon . . . I hope.

First day

We opened the restaurant today. With a steady flow of customers, it hasn't been too bad. John and I teamed up to make Frank Villines famous meatloaf for the lunch special. It went over well.

I'll be posting photos of the building and new floor on my Facebook page. Take a look.

My first newborn session is tomorrow and I can hardly wait! I will be posting a sneak peak of Lane Phillips the beginning of next week.

New Year=New Prices & New Projects

Out with 2009 and in with 2010. I am excited about the new year and what it has to offer. We will officially open our restaurant, The Top Rock Drive-In, in Alpena on Jan.2. The next two days will find us in the middle of cleaning, ripping up and replacing flooring, and did I mention cleaning?

Michele Graves Photography is entering into unknown territory . . . newborns! I'm excited to report that I have three sessions booked for newborns and can't wait to show the end results. While most photographers love the equity in weddings, I would rather shoot seniors and babies. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy shooting weddings as well, but feel that I miss that one-on-one connection with my clients. It's a hectic and exciting day after all.

Check out my site or facebook page to see sneak peaks of those babies!

Wanting Newborns

My latest interest is newborn photography. I would be willing to do a free shoot for a newborn no older than 2 weeks if anyone is interested. I think this will be a great market to get into and that we have a need for it in my area.

Break time . . .

The first semester of the school year is winding down. One more day and Christmas BREAK! I know I'm ready and so are the kids. Our new 8 period schedule has taken its toll on students and teachers alike.

I have been asked to present to the student body during out Career Fair 2010. It's an exciting opportunity to show students that I am capable of other things . . . :-)

Well, supper to cook, pictures to order, and taxes to do.

Busy - Busy - Busy

I would like to say that I'm incredibly busy shooting pictures, but that's only part of it. It's finals week at school, and we are working hard on getting the Top Rock ready for the transition.

John and I are very excited about the prospect of working solely for ourselves. We have each owned our small side businesses, but nothing the scale of a restaurant!

The studio is also open in Alpena. I have had to change my business name from Barefoot Photography to Michele Graves Photography, so I will probably have to change blogs as well. I don't know if anyone is even reading this thing or not, so it may not matter. :-)

If you're out there, thanks for reading.

News, news, news . . .

Well, it's official. We, John and I, have each invested in our new businesses. I have an official studio and we now own a restaurant - The Top Rock Drive-In in Alpena, Ar. My studio is also located in Alpena. The little town won't know what hit it! LOL

I keep getting the same question. . . "Are you going to keep teaching?" I honestly don't know the answer to that right now. I love teaching, hate the politics and grading that go along with it. I love photography and am very passionate about it. I want to do something I love and since teaching is an area of stress at this point in my life, I think I might like to do something else for a while. We'll just have to wait and see. I will try my best to put it in God's hands and let Him show me the right path to follow. What else can I do?

On the photography note, I am hosting my first Christmas Clicks on the square in Berryville. I'm booked for every single session in the morning, and am hoping the afternoon goes just as well.

Check out the website for new photos and drop me a line. . .
